Subject: Re: Chet: scheduling a Committee Specification Draft vote for XDI Core 1.0

Chet,

Thanks—I expected it was all this relatively straightforward and it's good to know it is.

I will post a notice of the April 8 meeting and we'll prepare the files that we need to upload to be ready for the motion. Once we've approved it and published the minutes, we'll fill out the form you linked to.

Best,

Hi Drummond,

Well, congratulations. I'm delighted that you have something to move forward to the official CSD status!

In terms of scheduling an official meeting, just announce the meeting on the TC's calendar. Some TC's note in their event notice that "This is an official meeting of the TC and counts towards voter eligibility". But that's really all you need to do.

The process for approving the Committee Spec Draft are spelled out in https://www.oasis-open.org/resources/tcadmin/approving-a-committee-specification-or-note-draft . The key thing is that someone makes a motion to approve the working draft as a Committee Spec Draft and you want to be sure to include the publicly accessible link to a zip file in Kavi containing all the parts that together will make up the CSD.

Once you have that motion in your minutes, fill out https://www.oasis-open.org/resources/tc-admin-requests/committee-specification-draft-creation-upload-request so that I have all the information and can publish the CSD for you.

Let me know if you have any questions on it.

Chet,

Good news: on our TC call on Friday, the TC decided that we are close enough that we want to schedule a formal meeting during the upcoming Internet Identity Workshop to hold a vote to advance XDI Core 1.0 to a Committee Specification Draft.

As you know, the XDI TC does our formal work via OASIS online tools and online votes, and our Friday calls are informal. But we want this to be a formal meeting on Wednesday April 8 (one that will be both in-person and online), so we can hold a vote.

Since it's been awhile, can you tell us:
  1. Besides giving sufficient notice, what if anything else do we have to do to schedule an official meeting?
  2. What do we have to do to hold a vote on the then-current XDI Core 1.0 Working Draft to advance it to a Committee Specification Draft?
Thanks,

=Drummond
