Subject: Re: [xliff-comment] Comment annotations with "ref" and "value"
Hi,
Â
The fragment âif and only ifâ only indicates that ârefâ must be present to indicate which note is referenced when there is no âvalueâ. It does not forbid the presence of ârefâ when there is âvalueâ. I understand the intention, but the text does not say what was intended.
Â
The schematron is informative. If there is a discrepancy between the specification and the schematron, the specification text has precedence.
Â
Iâm sending these emails because Iâm finding many possible errors in the schematron files. In this particular case, the schematron marks the presence of both attributes as invalid but the specification does not forbid the presence of both.
Â
I may report other problems with schematron later.
Â
Regards,
Rodolfo

Rodolfo, it says "if and only if", meaning having both is illegalÂÂ
The core schematron rules do highlight this as invalid, I tested recently in oXygen 21
Of course xsd cannot catch a co-occurrence constraint

Perhaps the specification needs to be modified to make having both attributes present at the same time an invalid case.

Hello,
Â
Description of Comment Annotations at http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/xliff-core/v2.1/os/xliff-core-v2.1-os.html#commentAnnotation says that if âvalueâ is missing, there must be a ârefâ attribute pointing to a <note>.
Â
What should be considered the text of the comment when both a âvalueâ and a valid ârefâ attribute exist?
