Subject: RE: [xri] RE: [xri-comment] XRI Resolution

Hi Marc,

I am in the process of bootstrapping the open source
process for an XRI implementation.

I believe the value of XRI software is similar to the
value of DNS software. It is of general value for
everyone, but has little commercial value by itself.
This is why I believe its development should be an open
community effort.

There will be several technologies involved. Resolvers,
registration systems, client libraries, multiple language
bindings, test suites, etc.

The XRI resolver will be written first, most likely on a
LAMP system (Linux, Apache, MySql, Perl), and with luck
it will be running by the end of this year.

Client libraries will follow, with the specifics determined
by community requirements and involvement.

If you or anyone else on this list would be interested
in this effort, please drop me an email. More information
will be posted to this list as we move beyond the bootstrap
phase of the project.

=Loren
