Subject: REVISED Examples of Statements of Use
Mary, thank you very much for the
clarification. I did not realize that separate SOUs were required for each specification
(actually I was unclear that it was going to be two separate ballots, so thanks
for clearing that up too). In that case, following are separate
templates for each of these two SOUs. Mary, since the XRI Syntax 2.0 specification
became a Committee Specification before the Conformance Clause requirements
were in effect, it doesn’t make sense to include the conformance clause
reference, so I removed it from the first one. Correct me if you think it
should read differently. Thanks, =Drummond ================= EXAMPLE TEMPLATE FOR SOU FOR XRI SYNTAX 2.0

======================================================================================= From: Mary McRae
[mailto:marypmcrae@gmail.com] On Behalf Of Mary
McRae Hi everyone, To clarify, TWO
statements of use will be required, since each specification will be a separate
ballot. Given that scenario, Boeing could certainly submit a statement of
use for xri-syntax. Regards, Mary From: Schleiff, Marty
[mailto:marty.schleiff@boeing.com] Hi Drummond (& All), Our internal usage of XRI uses syntax, but
not resolution. Would that still make a valid SOU? Marty.Schleiff@boeing.com; CISSP From: Drummond
Reed [mailto:drummond.reed@cordance.net] I had an action item from the last TC telecon to provide
examples of Statements of Use that are needed before an OASIS Standard vote (a
minimum of 3, to be precise). This statement must come from an OASIS Organizational
member, and to my knowledge can be sent by any member of that organization who
is also an OASIS member (it does not have to come from a member of the XRI TC,
although those are the natural candidates). The statement consists just of an email sent to the XRI TC
mailing list. Following is a template for such an email, followed by
examples of actual SOUs for the EML (Emergency Management Language)
specification vote late last year. Please send your SOU for XRI Syntax 2.0 and XRI Resolution
2.0 to the XRI TC list NO LATER THAN APRIL 3. Thanks, =Drummond ================= EXAMPLE TEMPLATE FOR SOU FOR XRI 2.0 SPECS
