Yes. This is also sometimes expressed as uncertainty. Precision usually denotes essentially the number of decimal points in the timestamp. Uncertainty tells you in absolute terms, how much that value might deviate from a designated reference. For example, my NTP monitor tells me that my desktop is offset 1.702 milliseconds from the Naval Observatory's reference tick.usno.navy.mil, with a jitter (essentially uncertainty) of 2.648 ms. --tony On 2015-10-12 2:35 PM, John-Mark Gurney wrote:
