That might be useful to a human (which is why I used it in the prose), but it's not going to be useful to a machine, which is what the goal of the Semantic Web is.

I agree with Aaron, this is not strictly true.  There are many things that ~the machine~ can do for us using arc labels like 'kindaLike' that have nothing to do with logical inference.  Picture each arc label like a rubber band between clusters of information ... the more rubber bands that are asserted between those clusters the stronger the pull is between the clusters, and so the closer those information clusters are in the context space.  'kindaLike' is gonna be a very useful rubber band :)

Actually that's not completely true. Montonic systems (or is it
non-monotonic... I can never remember) may use kindaLike to make
tentative inferences. It's rather useful for a large number of
applications.
