CONSORTIUM HEADLINES
--------------------

OASIS Continues Strong Growth by Attracting Market Leaders Focused on
XML Interoperability

OASIS added 10 new Sponsors to its membership of organizations and
individuals dedicated to collaborating on new XML applications
standards in the last quarter.
Drawn by the opportunity to contribute to OASIS work such as
ebXML and the SAML security specification, as well as the formation of
new OASIS technical committees, these companies expressed their common
commitment to interoperability.
The roster of new sponsors brings international IT corporations,
including Fujitsu and Oracle, together with new economy companies,
including Altova, Epicentric, eXcelon, NeoCore, Republica, Sybase,
Verticalnet and Vitria. In addition to these, 25 new Contributors and 51
new Individual members joined OASIS within the last three months.

OASIS Web Services Standards Public Meeting

OASIS launched its new WSCM TC with a public information meeting at the
Web Services Edge Conference in Santa Clara, CA on 24 Oct.  A
standing-room-only audience engaged in a lengthy and lively discussion
with OASIS staff and TC founding members from Documentum, Epicentric,
Hewlett-Packard and IBM. Many thanks to HP and IBM for providing
refreshments and to Sys-Con Media and the Web Services Edge conference
for making the meeting room available.
