OASIS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

TC ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MEETINGS
-----------------------------

OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language TC will hold its next
meeting 29 Nov via teleconference at 10AM (US ET). Contact TC co-chairs

(hal.lockhart@entegrity.com) for more information.

OASIS Provisioning Services TC held its first meeting 12 Nov and
ratified Darran Rolls of Waveset as chair. The TC will develop the
Provisioning Services Markup Language (PSML), an end-to-end
specification for the automation of user or system access and
entitlement rights to electronic services. Organizations collaborating
on PSML include Access360, Business Layers, Jamcracker, Novell, Oblix,
OpenNetwork Technologies, and other OASIS Contributors and Individual
members. The next TC meeting will be held 26 Nov at 12PM (US CST).

CONSORTIA COOPERATION

To identify overlap and opportunities for convergence, OASIS is
compiling a list of consortia and standards efforts in which our members
participate. By pursuing cooperative relationships, we hope to provide
you with the opportunity to contribute to the broadest possible range of
significant work through membership in OASIS. If you are involved in
other standards efforts, please let us know which ones are important to
you. If you can recommend standards initiatives that you think would
benefit from association with OASIS, we welcome your suggestions. Send

XML.org is pleased to announce the release of the premier issue release
of XML.org Newsletter.  Many thanks to the contributors and to Michael
Floyd, the newsletter editor, for a job well done.  The XML.org
Newsletter is
targeted at both practitioners and management.  The newsletter contains

Simon Y. Blackwell of Psoom, member of the OASIS XACML Technical
committee, will make a presentation on ebXML. Simon Nicholson of Sun
Microsystems will present a keynote speech on ebXML. Simon is
the ebXML Marketing Awareness Project Team Leader and member of the
OASIS Board of Directors. James Tauber of Bowstreet, co-chair of the
OASIS Directory Services TC, will present "XML Web Services: Standards
Update."

UPDATE

XML Asia Pacific Update

XML Asia Pacific was held in Sydney, Australia from November 5 - 8 and
was attended by approximately 250 delegates, vendors and exhibitors. The
conference focused on XML standards and technology. Dale Waldt of OASIS
gave an overview of ebXML, "It's Promise, Status, and Basic Structures"
in a keynote speech. This event, hosted by Allette System, Inc. and
IDEAlliance, is in its 9th year and began as SGML Asia Pacific.
