Subject: [OASIS members] OASIS News - 10 February 2003

OASIS News
10 February 2003

Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments
and activities for the XML interoperability consortium.

---------------------------------------------------------

OASIS XACML v1.0 Advanced to Standard Status

As previously announced, the OASIS XACML specification received
sufficient votes to be approved as an OASIS Standard, but because it
received negative votes it was sent back to the originating TC. The TC
has reached a decision to request approval of the spec as an OASIS
Standard despite the negative votes and on 6 February, the XACML v1.0
spec was approved as an OASIS Standard.

The OASIS XACML TC is to be congratulated on the work they have done in
developing this specification.

management and incident preparedness and response. The new OASIS
Emergency Management Technical Committee will define standards to enable
vital information exchange between local, state and federal agencies,
law enforcement, medical professionals, and other responders to natural
and man-made disasters and emergency situations. Blue292, Boeing, E
Team, IBM, MTG Management Consultants, National Center for Crisis and
Continuity Coordination (NC4), Oracle, Wells Fargo, and other OASIS
