1.3 ACCEPTANCE OF TODAY'S AGENDA [2] - Without change.

2. STATUS OF ACTION ITEMS [3]

Bart walked through the still-open action items. Others were agreed and added to the list during or immediately after the meeting.
#0001 Contacting the Open Document Fellowship - ACTION: Don Harbison agreed to forward the Intel contact to Bart and let Rob Weir know he'd done that. Bart will follow up on the Intel copyright on the Fellowship test suite
#0004 Contact Rajiv Shah. We had the call with David Marston. Rajiv Shah reports that he is working on round trip tests and will advice when there is something on those. ACTION: Bart will follow-up on whether and when the original tests are available for our use.
#0005 Having Jira set up for OIC-TC. Bart reports that not available yet and OASIS pilot still underway. ACTION: Dennis is on a TC using Jira for the pilot and will report back on the experience there.
#0006 Contact David Marston. Marston was contacted and we had an Expert Meeting in which he presented an overview of his experience and recommendations for conformance and interoperability [4]. CLOSED.
#0007 Create oic-discuss List. Still open.
#0009 NEW: Forward Intel Contact on ODF Fellowship test suite. Don Harbison. See #0001
#0010 NEW: Supply notes on first David Marston Expert Talk. Dennis will do this, checking with Marston.
#0011 NEW: Link Wiki from the OIC TC Page. Dennis will do this so all can find the Wiki.
#0012 NEW: Invite David Marston for next Expert Meeting. Dennis will see if he is available for December 10 and suggest metadata as topic, getting his recommendation too.
#0013 NEW: Become Active on Wiki. This is a general request to all of us from Bart.
#0014 NEW: Start list of 2009 event opportunities. Suggested by Louis Suarez-Potts.
#0015 NEW: Create Template Scenario. Dennis will work at having a template scenario started on the Wiki (see agenda item 4.2).

3. FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS RECEIVED
There were two events that were reported, along with discussion of an activity that is being proposed elsewhere.

3.1 DAVID MARSTON EXPERT TALK AND FOLLOW-UP

The Marston November 26 talk was held [4]. Bart provided his impressions of key ideas and actions he has taken on the Wiki [5].
  - The slides have not been posted to oic-comment yet.
  - Those who want to see the slides before they are posted to ODF TC can request them by e-mail to Bart.
  - We agreed to invite Marston back for an additional Expert Talk, on December 10 if he is available. Bart would like to hear more metadata recommendations. Dennis will follow-up (Action #0012 above) and obtain Marston's availability and recommendation on best topic to cover next.

3.2 MICROSOFT DOCUMENT INTEROPERABILITY INITIATIVE (DII) WORKSHOP IN BRUSSELS

The workshop was held 2008-12-02. Bart and Doug Mahugh attended. Doug summarized the parts of the workshop that were relevant to ODF and also answered questions about further workshops and availability of Microsoft test documents. Three items bear directly on our work:
  - Microsoft proposes to create a web site that will go through the ODF 1.1 specification element by element, providing an extract of the specification for the element and addressing whether, for Microsoft Office 2007 SP2, the element is supported, not supported, supported in a limited way, or supported in an enriched way.
  - Microsoft is considering making their atomic-level ODF unit-test documents available to the OIC TC and Bart and Doug are discussing this.
  - Microsoft is also collecting documents at an use-case level, apparently oriented toward IS 29500 and the SC34 WG on document interoperability. It is not clear how those might have bearing for the OIC TC.

3.3 "ONLINE VIEWER" PROPOSAL

Bart described the proposal that came out of discussions he was having. The details of the proposal appeared on oic-comment while we were meeting [6]. The basic idea is for a web site where a document could be submitted and the site would show how the document renders with a variety of implementations.
  - It is not clear whether this proposal is to OIC TC or is for NLnet foundation or OpenDoc Society to do it.
  - We concluded that it would not be within our charter to do this under the OIC TC nor would OASIS be an appropriate host.
  - The members are encouraged to promote this activity and also see how to work with it external to the OIC TC work.
  - It was suggested that the ODF Toolkit Foundation might find this valuable.

4. DELIVERABLES: TEST DOCUMENTS

4.1 TEST METADATA

Bart has uploaded some material on the wiki [5]. He is requesting review and discussion on the Wiki of what he has there. Bart has also uploaded an Relax NG example that he wants to see reviewed.
 - Dennis agreed to add a link to the Wiki to the OIC TC page so that people knew about it and how to find it (Action #0011).

4.2 CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Bart urged us all to learn our way around the Wiki and find ways to discuss and contribute (Action #0013). Dennis said he would turn his promise to do a templates scenario into an actionable promise on the Wiki (Action #0015).

5. ROUND TABLE - no discussion

6. FUTURE MEETING PLANNING

The next formal meeting is Wednesday, December 17. That will be the last formal meeting in 2008.

6.1 NEW BUSINESS

Louis Suarez-Potts offered to start identification of 2009 events where there may be opportunities to discuss OIC, make presentations about it, whether from a vendor or other perspective, and also hold demonstrations (new Action #0014). Bart also saw this as an opportunity for more plugfests and satisfying the charter in that regard.

6.2 CURRENT SCHEDULE - we have not set a schedule or the meetings for 2009 yet.
