Subject: Specification Analysis Wiki Clean-Up Step 3 - Repair Planning

1. I have completed the damage assessment steps that I specified last night.

2. I was able to completely bring the templates that are used to author pages in a text editor up to a wiki 1.6-compatible level. The nature of the changes as they apply to the use of the OIC Wiki has been captured.

3. I have found no breaking changes between 1.6 and the earlier version that can't be handled by mostly-mechanical transformation to the existing wikiText on the SVN repository.

4. The next step is to find the best approach for doing this. I am examining two options and will explore that further tomorrow.
4.1 Either option results in synchronization of the SVN pages used for authoring with the wikiText that is held by the wiki.
4.2 Because the upgrader rewrote pages on the wiki, we are currently out of sync. In addition, as already discussed, the updated pages also have some incorrect changes. While correction of those is not hard, it does required manual intervention and review.

More after I've slept on it.

Subject: [oic] Specification Analysis Wiki Clean-Up Step 2 - Damage Assessment

1. I have completed the first stage of the cleanup: Creation of a lockdown page to inject in place of damaged SpecAnalysis pages until repaired replacements are available. That page is currently in place here: <http://wiki.oasis-open.org/oic/SpecAnalysis>. It will move as I move through the substructure for additional repairs.

2. The next stage is to provide a quick damage assessment.

2.1 I know what the breaking update was for internal links among the wiki pages. I now need to review the templates that I use.

2.2 The template pages make use of all of the techniques that are employed for Specification Analysis wiki pages.

2.3 If I can repair all of the templates, I can create a plan for repairing all of the existing content pages. If not, I will look for a "plan B."

Subject: RE: [oic] Specification Analysis Wiki Clean-Up Step 1

I am about to begin repair of the OIC Specification Analysis Wiki Pages.

1. There will be an unusual amount of SVN activity will I get repairs going (e.g., <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/oic/200908/msg00020.html>). I apologize for that. It will settle down as I become confident that I can batch the repairs into big chunks as I go.

2. My first step is to "lock down" that part of the Wiki by temporarily replacing the page at <http://wiki.oasis-open.org/oic/SpecAnalysis> with a generalized "This portion of the OIC Wiki is Locked Down for Repairs."
