According to the ODF 1.1 specs, 
the "document content and the automatic styles used in the content" are
stored in content.xml while "Styles used in the document content and
automatic styles used in the styles themselves" are stored in 
styles.xml.

It is isn't quite clear to me where automatic styles that are used both
in named styles and in the document content are supposed to be stored.
