No worry: we all have thick skin :)

From a technical viewpoint one of the difference between TMX and XLIFF is that TMX is multi-lingual and XLIFF is bilingual.
Making XLIFF multi-lingual would be a significant change.

There are categories of OASIS membership that are for individual.
