Subject: [ciq] REMINDER: CALL FOR VOTING TO ADOPT xCIL V2.0 and xCRL V1.1 asCommittee Specifications
Ram, Please register my vote as follows. Message text written by Ram Kumar >Please cast your vote on the following by COB Monday, 22 July 2002: 2. Adopt xCRL V1.1 as CIQ TC Committee Specification: YES/NO If NO, Please provide reasons. >>> YES, approve 1. Adopt xCIL V2.0 as CIQ TC Committee Specification : YES/NO If NO, Please provide reasons. >>> NO. The PersonInfo and OrganizationInfo contain information points that are too open to local customization and varience. I believe we need to address three issues before continuing here: a) Varience of information - provide structure that can manage this via mechanisms as in the OAGIS BOD approach. b) Provide better grouping of information points underneath PersonInfo and OrganizationInfo to facilitate this. Right now there are unrelated information points all just under the one parent. c) Tackle the issue of information access. Today Liberty and other schemes are providing systems that people are extremely distrustful of. There is an opportunity here to exploit XML in a positive way to enpower people to control their own information content and access. As a committee we should solve this by providing not just flat XML structures - but include in those structures the ability to control and track information access. This was tough to envision last year - but now the tools to build this are being formulized thru work such as WSDL and more. Thanks, DW.
