One example is that you might have to enforce a user providing certain values for such kind of metadata and that a client has to provide a user interface. So if we consider this stuff as being important for CMIS we should have a look at the DoD requirements as well. That would be interesting, although I'm concerned that would quickly let us leave the area of *basic* interop. Out of curiosity: embedded metadata (as in XMP) frequently uses namespaced identifiers (such as in RDF property names); has the DoD any requirements related to that?
