Minutes for the
DITA Adoption TC meeting Regrets from Sowmya Kannan, Kris Eberlein, Donald Roehmer,

6. (1 March 2010) JoAnn will encourage all members of the DITA
Translation Subcommittee to join the DITA Adoption Technical Committee. 7. (12 October 2009) JoAnn suggested preparing an article
where all referencing mechanisms are explained and uses cases are provided. --
to be assigned 8. (12 April 2010) Marc Speyer and JoAnn Hackos will prepare
information about the Shell Model generator and work with Elovirta to improve
the interface. Intention to create a series of web pages on dita.xml.org to
introduce the concept of preparing a Shell Model, link to the generator, and
provide pages from the tools vendors about integrating the Shell Models into
the tools and add a link to the process for doing so in the Open Toolkit.

2010. All members who have signed up for reviews are urged to
begin as soon as possible. JoAnn will send reminder and sample of the format
for submitting comments. JoAnn will also write to Sowmya Kannan and Briana Wherry
to ensure they can complete reviews. Joe Gelb will handle the Classification Elements (Gershon
will add to review list). Everyone to send their comments to Gershon, JoAnn, and Kris
who will add comments to the DITA TC Review Wiki. 2. ITEM:
Follow up on discussion of the Shell Model generator developed by Elovirta. http://www.elovirta.com/dita-generator/
(shell generator tool home page) Reviewed
ideas from last meeting. Discussed need to provide instructions to help users
integrate their Shell Models with various editors. Don Day suggested at last
meeting a link to the instructions for adding them to the OT. JoAnn suggested
possible page on dita.xml.org with an introduction to why Shell Models might be
useful. Marc Speyer volunteered to prepare the initial draft of the reason d’etre.
JoAnn and Hal Trend will advise Jarno on changes to the interface. Marc and
Gershon will meet with Hal at the CMS conference to review the generator. Will
need to ask the tools vendors to provide instructions for integration to the
web pages. 3. ITEM: OASIS FO
plug-in for DITA-OT Marc S asked about
the status of the plug-in. JoAnn that Hal had found the problem of the
copyright page and had communicated with Tony Self. Will send the “bug”
report to Joe Gelb and the information on the correction to Marc. The Plug-in
is working properly with the corrections.
All other
members, please read the article before the next meeting. 5. All other items are on hold until the DITA Adoption TC
members have completed their spec reviews. We will review the status at the
next meeting. Members not participating in the reviews are urged to read
