Updated straw man, which addresses points raised by Chet Ensign and Gershon Joseph
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00026.html (Eberlein, 13 September 2021)
Query out to Chet:
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00029.html (Eberlein, 14 September 2021)
- Kris; this was worked on by me, Dawn, Nancy, Gershon
- Nancy; worked on first part; goal was to make it as gen'l as possible so we wouldn't have to do it again.
- Dawn; yes, one thing Chet said was to 'not tie ourselves in knots' so we wouldn;' thave to do it again. Goal was to be a general as possible while stil stating what we were about.
- Kris; we struggled on Friday with the 'statement of purpose' section, what DITA is, what's unique, and what it offers.
- Kris; any comments?
- Gershon; I read the latest version; it works for me.
[no more comments]
- Kris; I have a query out to Chet; we may need to reorder the exceptions, we also may need to add business benefits, may need to move 'scope of work' to before 'deliverables', and add 'business benefits' as well. If folks are generally OK with this, we'll finish it up based on feedback on what's required and what the order has to be. So please comment now if you have concerns. Also take a look at the original charter to compare it with proposed new one.

9. Using DITA 2.0 Troubleshooting committee note
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202108/msg00034.html (Eberlein, 31 August 2021)
Most recent draft PDF: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00024.html (Eberlein, 13 September 2021)
Title for committee note
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00015.html (Eberlein, 07 September 2021)
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00016.html (Hudson, 07 September 2021)
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00017.html (Harrison, 07 September 2021)
- Kris; one question we have is the best title. it's a bit confusing.
- Nancy; if we're not going to do it again, I'd go with #3, if not, then #2.
- Gershon; I think we sohould go with third option
- Scott; I agree that we sho0uld focus on 2.0.
- Gershon; if OASIS insists, then use option 2.
- Dawn; hate to disagree, but I automatically make the version apply to the document rather than the release.
- Scott; but that is the 2nd version, Bob's was the first.
- Kris; not really, it wasn't done as a CN but a a white paper
- Carlos, I think we need to make it clear which this is.
- Kris; whatever we do, we should decide and it will be what we do for all future CNs. if we were to update this, we might neede to retain the same version number.
- Nancy; if that's the case, it definitely shouldn't be in the title,
- Scott; I agree,
- Kris; I'll send a note to OASIS to clarify.
***ActionItem: Kris will contact OASIS on options for naming updated troubleshooting CN.

10. DITA TC Open OASIS repos

a. Continuing New repo for specializations not part of the standard
Requested by Eberlein on 07 September 2021
Opened on 10 September 2021: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00021.html (Chet Ensign, 10 September 2021)
- Kris; Chet has opened the repo, we need to get the source for our specializations into the repository; that will take some forethought and some setup work. Robert, will you be able to do that?
- Robert; will take some thought ... With 1.3, you need the full set of grammars to make these work, so we need to start by committing the 1.3 errata 2 hot fix, which will just be everything. For 2.0, we need to create separate modules with pointers to working versions of 2.0, or it will break every time we update DITA.
- Kris; once we have these set up so they work with 2.0, we can put a tag on them so folks won't have to clone the entire repository, they can just download a zip. But for dev work that will take place in the repo, we'll need submodules for base.
- Robert; and those do conflict, but we can have plugins and submodules and we should have both.
- Kris; Robert, for first commit, should we upload all the grammar file, minus XSDs, for 1.3?
- Carlos, will L&T be independent of grammar file?
- Robert; for L&T 1.3, you need everything for them to work, and anyone using L&T 1.3 is using the whole folder, so it makes no sense to split them out.
- Kris; we'll put in a master branch, and then a dev branch, and the dev branch is where the work will go for reconfiguring work.
- Robert; in main repo, we'll have a main and dev branch.
- Nancy; for the 2.0 compatible L&T files, are we going to get rid of all but the div2 stuff?
- Kris; yes.
[discussion among Kris, Carllos, Eliot around the details on github work, master and mail branches and submodules]
- Kris; remember, we can get non-OASIS folks to work on this, they can work in a an open OASIS repo; maybe we can get someone out of the TC to help.

b. Continuing RNG converter
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202107/msg00008.html (Eberlein, 13 July 2021)
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202107/msg00009.html (Chet Ensign, 13 July 2021)
Need to revise statement of purpose to cover generating monolithic XSD (DTD also?)
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202108/msg00036.html (Kimber, 31 August 2021)
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00007.html (Eberlein, 07 September 2021)
- Kris; Eliot, can you fix the rng stuff by next week?
- Eliot; yes I can, though i won't be able to work on it before Friday.
***ActionItem: Eliot will update the RNG open repo text

11. Rescheduled Webinar
Blurb for Webinar
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00034.html (Eberlein, 14 September 2021)
- Kris; first wold like to feedback on my draft blurb for the webinar
- Zoe; wrt questions, make it clear you could send your questions now, ask people to cme with questions
- Kris; don't want people do don't have questions to not com
- Gershon; move paragraph 4 up to be para 2.
- Kris; so that;, and make it specific to please develop questions ahead of time and let us know about them. i'll revamp this based on this discussion and send it back out.
***ActionItem: Kris will revise upcoming webinar blurb and send back out
Things we need DONE in advance of 05 October 2021
DITA specializations repo populated with DITA 1.3, Errata 02 source
Revisions to RNG converter completed
Diagnostics proposal approved and integrated
Misc fixes integrated into grammar files (documentation can come later)
Grammar files and draft specs available as downloads
- Kris; Robert where does misc fixes stand?
- Robert; all approved ones have gone into grammar files
- Zoe; will come a review process where outside people look at spec. do we make changes based on the review.
- Kris; yes we do. if someone suggests a substantive change, we might, though that would push us back tot he beginning. We;ve never done that,
- Zoe; didn't realize it reset things.
- Krisl we'vve nver done that; generally, changes ha ve been non-substantive. if we were to make a change that would make grammar files non-compatible withprevious versions of 2.0, that would require a reseet.
- Robert; in past ahve never had to make that kind of change,
- Kris; we hope to have as many peoel review it as we can get, inside and outside of oasis

12. Setting up an OASIS publishing environment
https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202109/msg00013.html (Eberlein, 07 September 2021)
Feedback from Carlos and Frank?
- Kris; i kind of documented this with stylesheets for spec, CN, and non formal things. Carlos & Frank offered feedback
- Carlos; i just got a message that notes a considerable number of erros, there are a number of spaghetti refs and ino arch of LwD main map.
- Robert; would also notes that FOP is unkind when links are missing their targets, FOP just crashes instead of issuing a warning.
- Kris; so this is about problems in the documetn, but did you have the opportunity build a CN or a generic
- Carlos; i only tried to build my stuff, since i needed to build it.
- Robert; and my build of LwD crashed in the same way Carloss; did, so
- Kris; sent a revised version to Carlos about opening an oxygen Oxygen project files. how many people here use them?
[none]
- Zoe; when i'm able to use oxygen, connected to some other source control tool., so i haven't used them.
- Kris; i use them to keep from altering the builtin oxygen environment. and I use them so I don't have to re enter my preferences all the xformation parameters for these xforms.
- Zoe; think it's a feature that if you understand them, it's powerful, but not if you haven't used them.
- Zoe; i try to build ona build server.
- Kris; i probably have 20-30 different versions of DITA-OT, so I need to switch easily.
Kris; I encourage anyone else to set up our env .
