Subject: Re: [docbook-apps] excluding image format according to output

Related to this, how much does the input format for an image matter for the final size of the PDF? I'm assuming vector images would be smaller for vector-type data, but for raster-type data (eg, screen shots, photos, etc.) how much does the original format matter? For instance, would a screen shot stored in PNG or JPG create a larger or smaller final PDF? Or is it just the size of the PDF without the image + the size of the image, whatever format it is? -- Larry Garfield AIM: LOLG42 larry@garfieldtech.com ICQ: 6817012 "If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of every one, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it." -- Thomas Jefferson
