I should have been more explicit here: 1.0 is indeed the latest  
released version, but this release still has the bug. You need to  
install one of the recent snapshots, avaiable here:

http://ci.apache.org/projects/xmlgraphics/fop/snapshots/

I've installed a snapshot a few weeks ago which already had the bug  
fixed. I assume that any of the snapshots listed on that page should  
work for you.
