I believe that warning is in the (embedded?) schematron rules rather
than in the schema itself. I know that with Oxygen, I sometimes see a
bunch of errors flagged that don't show up when I only validate against
the .rng schema.

I'm unclear on the status of the schematron rules. Are they just
recommendations or do they reflect illegal constructs? Let me know what
you find out.
