I can agree to that. Michael >>> "Ranjeeth Kumar Thunga" <rkthunga@interposting.com> 31-01-2003 21:20:46 >>> I think the list of goals is quite thorough. Also, in line with your last post Michael, here are a couple of minor suggestions I would make at this stage. I think we are using different variations of English as well (I use US English), so I am not making other changes. I don't know if we've adopted a common variation for the e-Gov committee, or what other efforts do, but that's something we could look into in our next TC meeting. 1) I would not use the word "common", at least at this stage, because I am assuming we may very well end up with many different needs and methodologies, considering we will be working with many government organizations and governments. 2) Change the phrase "a minimum level of" to "sufficient". This makes it a little more flexible. 3) Add "within and between", to allow for coordination within a government organization. Thus, here are the points with my suggestions: - Identify needs regarding standardisation of information objects and dataelements. - Formulate methodologies regarding analysys of form, documents and processes (dataneeds) - Formulate a methodology for defining priorities - Achieve sufficient consensus on priorities in order to coordinate work done within and between different organizations in order to share knowledge as well as achievements (datadefinitions)> ----- Ranjeeth Kumar Thunga -----Original Message----- From: Michael Bang Kjeldgaard [mailto:mbk@itst.dk] Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 3:06 PM To: 'egov-services@lists.oasis-open.org'; Diane.Lewis@usdoj.gov; tomtuduc@WebArches.com Cc: rkthunga@interposting.com Subject: Svar: RE: [egov-services] eGov Service Subcommittee charterbrainstorm 1/31/02 OK, if you look at my proposals regarding goals you can see I talk about making priorities. In Denmark we have made some diffiretnt analytical work regarding potential of digitalizing eg forms. Factors vary from number of form transactions to level of inter-agency use to complexty and need for signatur or other formal needs that complicate digitalization. I think it will be an important achievement if we can somehow qualify the database with the mapping with this kind of information about possible effects, value-added or barriers. Further more we could maybe identify which services (forms/data) are most relevant in across national borders such as visa applications and tax. Michael >>> "Lewis, Diane" <Diane.Lewis@usdoj.gov> 31-01-2003 20:55:21 >>> Ok... 45 minutes into our dialogue we have the following..draft: Purpose: The purpose of the eGov Services subcommittee is to identify and map existing government services functions and data with technical standards from an integrated service delivery perspective. The > The resulting mappings will show the information or services integrated according to function or topic, **in addition to** agency jurisdiction." > Goals: <MBK: - Identify common needs regarding standardisation of informations objects and dataelement. - Formulate a common methodology regarding analysys of form, documents and processes (dataneeds) - Formulate a common methodology for defining priorities - Achieve a minimum level of consensus on priorities in order to coordinate work done in many different organisations in order to share knowledge as well as achievements (datadefinitions)> -----Original Message----- From: Lewis, Diane Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 2:41 PM To: 'tomtuduc@WebArches.com'; 'egov-services(a)lists.oasis-open.org' Cc: 'rkthunga@interposting.com'; 'Michael Bang Kjeldgaard' Subject: RE: [egov-services] eGov Service Subcommittee charter brainstorm 1/31/02 That's it one of our deliverables.... dl -----Original Message----- From: Tom Tuduc [mailto:tomtuduc@webarches.com] Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 2:36 PM To: Lewis, Diane; 'egov-services(a)lists.oasis-open.org' Subject: RE: [egov-services] eGov Service Subcommittee charter brainstorm 1/31/02 The mapping will be as complete as the white page/yellow pages of government services that exist. After identifying these sources, we can "XML-tize" them using OASIS templates. -TT --- "Lewis, Diane" <Diane.Lewis@usdoj.gov> wrote: > What is our purpose?? > > <DL: The purpose of the eGov Services subcommittee > is to identify and map existing government services, > functions and data with technical standards from an > integrated service delivery perspective.
