Subject: RE: [egov] Convergent Standards Listing
Hello Rex May I suggest that you also add the reference to the UN/CEFACT ebXML Core Components Tech Spec (CCTS) which includes a syntax neutral, ISO 1179 compliant, data naming convention aimed specifically at achieving the widest possible semantic interoperability. Also, whilst on the subject of OASIS TC co-operation you and your colleagues may well be interested to check out the UBL XML naming and design rules which are compliant to the UN/CEFACT ebXML CCTS and which also include a significant code list implementation paper. Lastly, the UBL Library work has built a spreadsheet to schema methodology which is also CCTS compliant and which links the relevant underlying UML process model to the final schema structures via the ebXML CCTS and the UBL naming and design rules. Whilst this work is presently centred on the procurement arena the methodology has the potential to be useful in many other XML spheres as well. regards Sue Sue Probert Tel: +44 1425 275117 Mobile: +44 7798 846652 email: sue.probert@dial.pipex.com <mailto:sue.probert@dial.pipex.com> -----Original Message----- From: Rex Brooks [mailto:rexb@starbourne.com] Sent: 17 May 2003 17:55 To: rkthunga@humanmarkup.org; huml@lists.oasis-open.org; youssa@rpi.edu; RRugg55041@aol.com; rkthunga@interposting.com; clbullar@ingr.com; robnixon@execpc.com; cognite@zianet.com; james.landrum@ndsu.nodak.edu; emergency@lists.oasis-open.org; sressler@nist.gov; egov@lists.oasis-open.org; Gnosis_@compuserve.com; duane@yellowdragonsoft.com Subject: [egov] Convergent Standards Listing Hi Folks, I've added a couple of names to the address list due to recent exchanges about using and referencing standards, schemata both XML and RDF, and cross-TC issues and concerns. This is final version, except for proofreading, at this stage of the listing of relevant standards that I've researched in regard to the Human Physical Characteristics Description Markup Language (HPCDML) and its projected intersections with Human Behavior Representation, Emergency Services and Public Health. I have focused on Emergency Services rather than Public Safety per se, but I hope any significant deficiencies in that area that could be helpful to those concerned specifically with Public Safety beyond Emergency Services will be pointed out to us, and we will certainly remedy the insufficiencies. I also want to point out one more time that this is just the starting point as best I can establish it at this time. Thanks, and any comments and suggestions are welcome.
