Subject: RE: Help with archiving format document
Duane, Thanks for wanting to help - however, the area you mention is exactly what I'm not looking at, for the v. good reason that lots of good work has already been done there! My focus is on when, where and how (the right bits of) the information involved in e-style government interactions (G2G, C2G, B2G) become formal records (an aspect of record declaration); and identifying, & getting hold of, all the right information to constitute an authentic record (aspects of capture). There are lots of requirements that I can carry into this based on my previous interactions with many governments worldwide. For example, in Canada, we have to be able to look at a document up to ten years later and be able to attest with 100% certainty that it is being displayed exactly as it was originally displayed. The US and Japan also have similar requirements. There are also a lot of requirements pertaining to permissions based access to partial documents and complete audit trails of all who have read those parts. My employer also has a wealth of ability in this area and we would be prepared to share a lot of our experiences with the eGovernment group going forward.
