Subject: RE: [election-services] EML60Analysis

Richard,

This is useful additional analysis to the existing EML-v6-dictionary.xml and .xls

However in the EML-v6-dictionary - context shows where items are used.

Similarly it is most helpful to identify where an actual definition is made - since mostly we try to put these in the -include xsd - or the EMLcore import so that things are consistent.

Things that are not defined in an include - but could be moved to an include, or changed to reference the include definition - especially to/from EMLcore - would be the most useful analysis.

Otherwise its going to take many hours by hand to find out where what the program is reporting is actually located to change it.

Thanks, DW

Greetings,

Attached are two files, EML60Analysis.zip and EML60Comments.pdf. The
first file contains the output of EML60Analysis, a program that analyzes
how definitions are used across all EML schemas files. The second file
contains a brief introduction to the goals of EML60Analysis and the data
it produces. This file also summarizes the EML definitions that might
warrant a closer look based on what EML60Analysis discovered. In a
nutshell, EML60Analysis looks for variations in how names and types are
used among the EML schemas and flags possible inconsistencies. I think
this data might help us improve the standard, but I'll let the committee
be the judge of that.

Regards,
Rich
