Subject: Re: [legalxml-courtfiling] Expectations for Errata 4.01 posting
Hi Paul,
Can you tell me if the definitive 4.01 spec with errata is available and posted to the OASIS website? If the information is not yet posted, please provide the posting schedule. I’m assuming that the materials will be located here: http://docs.oasis-open.org/legalxml-courtfiling/specs/ecf/v4.01/ecf-v4.01-spec/; and that the OASIS LegalXML ECF 4.01 with errata landing page will include a human-friendly link pointing to the materials.
I have developers who have been working with older versions of the document(s?) and they have projects to deliver within the next couple of weeks. It’s critical that their deliverables are, in fact, based on the correct reference material. Please advise.
Thank you,
Jim

Hi Gary,
The "Latest version" links are the items in your display (like ecf-v4.01-spec.html) which show numbers (45 or 46) in the "size" column. They are symbolic links which can be changed to point to a specific file. The front page of the specification lists the complete (URL) path to these items, within the "Latest version:" section.
Best regards,
Paul

Thank you Chet and Jim,
I believe this has cleared up most of my confusion, except for the “Latest version links” referenced in the third paragraph of Chet’s reply.
Currently, I do not see anything in the http://docs.oasis-open.org/legalxml-courtfiling/specs/ecf/v4.01/ecf-v4.01-spec/ folder that is or resembles a Latest version link.
Once the errata is published, and based on your response, it is my expectation that I will need to update the link for ‘4.01 Electronic Court Filing OASIS Standard’ in the ‘Technical Work Produced by Committee’ section to point to the new errata01/os folder.

Chet,
Thanks for the response. You answered my question. Gary, are we good?

Hi Gary,
The Approved Errata will be published in the current errata directory. Right now, in http://docs.oasis-open.org/legalxml-courtfiling/specs/ecf/v4.01/ecf-v4.01-spec/ you have the directory for the current OASIS Standard (...os/) and the current errata (...errata01/). The current draft errata are in errata01/csd01/ and errata01/csprd01/.
The Approved Errata will be published in errata01/os/ and the names will be ecf-v4.01-spec-errata01-os.#### and ecf-v4.01-spec-errata01-os-complete.####. There will be a zip file named ecf-v4.01-spec-errata01-os.zip.
Also, once published, the Latest version links at http://docs.oasis-open.org/legalxml-courtfiling/specs/ecf/v4.01/ecf-v4.01-spec/ecf-v4.01-spec.### will resolve to the OASIS Standard with Approved Errata.
Just FYI, re "replace the contents of the existing folder" - we never replace or overwrite existing files because they are part of the historical record. Instead, we use the directory structure to reflect the advancing stages of the specs as they move through the process.
Paul, correct me if I got anything wrong here...

During the Aug. 12, 2015 conference call it was noted that the ECF 4.01 Errata, approved at the July f2f meeting would be posted by Chet.
I anticipate updating the ECF TC website when this occurs, but I am not sure what to expect.
Currently the webpage has a section titled “Technical Work Produced by the Committee”
Today this section lists the following
Technical Work Produced by the Committee
3.0 Electronic Court Filing Committee Draft
3.0 ECF XML Signature Document Signature Profile Committee Draft 1.0
3.1 Electronic Court Filing Committee Draft
4.0 Electronic Court Filing Committee Draft
4.0 Web Services Service Interaction Profile
4.0 Portable Media Service Interaction Profile
4.01 Electronic Court Filing OASIS Standard
The “4.01 Electronic Filing OASIS Standard” currently points to a folder that contains the original OASIS approved Standard for ECF 4.01 – this folder includes a zip file which contains all ECF 4.01 artifacts (i.e. ecf-4.01-spec-os.zip).
I am not sure whether “posting” of the Errata by Chet will replace the contents of this existing folder with corrected artifacts, or if a new folder is to be created with the Errata artifacts (e.g. similar to what was published in the ’15-day Public Review for (#LegalXML) Electronic Court Filing v4.01 Errata 01’ announcement), see: https://www.oasis-open.org/news/announcements/15-day-public-review-for-legalxml-electronic-court-filing-v4-01-errata-01-ends-ju . Either way, I presume that we can expect a zip file will contain all corrected artifacts (will this be named ecf-v4.01-spec-errata01-os.zip ?).
