KMIP and KMIP Profiles become OASIS Standards

Members have approved versions 1.0 of the Key Management
Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) and the KMIP Profiles as OASIS
Standards. KMIP enables communication between encryption systems and
enterprise applications, including email, databases, and storage
devices. Congratulations to the KMIP TC co-chars, Robert Griffin of
RSA and Subhas Sankuratripati of NetApp, and to all TC participants,
including representatives of Foundational Sponsor, IBM, and Sponsors,
Axway, Brocade, CA Technologies, Cisco, EMC, HP, Oracle, Red Hat,
SafeNet, Skyworth TTG, Symantec, US NIST, Venafi, Voltage Security,
and others.

Members propose OASIS S-RAMP TC

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft
charter to establish the OASIS SOA Repository Artifact Model and
Protocol (S-RAMP) Technical Committee. S-RAMP will advance a common
data model for SOA repositories as well as an interaction protocol to
facilitate the use of common tooling and sharing of data. TC proposers
include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsor, IBM, and
Sponsors, Active Endpoints, HP, Red Hat, SOA Software, Software AG,
TIBCO, and others. Chris Peltz of HP serves as convener. The member
comment period for this draft charter closes 13 Oct.

OASIS creates discussion list on Biometric Web Services

A new mailing list for members and non-members will explore interest
in developing open standards for facilitating biometric operations
over a service oriented architecture, with the potential of forming an
OASIS technical committee. Ross J. Micheals of the U.S. National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) serves as the discussion
leader.
