New Directors Selected for OASIS UDDI Member Section Steering Committee

Ian Bruce of Systinet, Eric Hamer of Intel, and Vicki Shipkowitz of SAP have
been elected to the OASIS UDDI Member Section Steering Committee. Ian Bruce
will be serving as the Steering Committee Chair. The Universal Description,
Discovery and Integration specifications (UDDI), define a registry system
for Web, electronic, and non-electronic services, that helps to efficiently
connect providers and consumers.

OASIS Adoption Forum in Brussels--6 Oct

OASIS will be sponsoring a one-day event in Brussels designed to allow
providers, users, and integrators of e-Business systems to learn about the
development and adoption of open standards for Web services, e-Government
and localization. Alejandro Moya, IST eGovernment unit, Head of Sector,
Directorate General Information Society, European Commission will keynote
the Forum. The event will conclude with an interactive panel discussion
covering a variety of open standard issues.

OASIS Publishes Guidelines for Translating Standards

To enable communities around the world to more easily implement OASIS work,
the Consortium is seeking volunteers interested in providing or funding
unofficial translations of OASIS Standards and specifications. Translators
may work alone or together with others.
