Marbux,

I would like to remind you that this is the mailing list of a technical
committee. It's for the technical discussion of proposals. That means,
technical feedback on proposals is of cause very welcome, but we should
abstain from makings assumptions and accusations.

This mailing list is most emphatically not only for technical discussions. We work here on a proposal to be submitted to ISO as a draft international standard. The Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade places only a single requirement on our deliberations:

"Members shall ensure that technical regulations are not **prepared,** adopted or applied with a view to or with the effect of creating unnecessary obstacles to international trade."

The treaty does not require us to prepare technically excellent standards or to work in a collegial manner. It tells us only that we must be vigilant in protecting the draft standard from efforts to tilt the competitive playing field. I have no intention of standing quiet when I see such abuse.

We should all be interested in keeping the OpenDocument TC a place where
proposals are discussed in a fair manner on a technical level. I hope
that you agree to that, and that your "no" above does not mean you are
not interested in this.

As stated above, I reject your suggestion that only technical issues are relevant.
