Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Updated: (OFFICE-2218) DDE: check details ofdata conversion and cell style
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2218?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ] Eike Rathke updated OFFICE-2218: -------------------------------- Proposal: In the table, change Mode 0: Data converted to number(s) using the default cell style. Mode 1: Data converted to number(s), interpreted as US English (en_US) so "." is decimal separator. to Mode 0: Data converted to number using VALUE in the number style's locale of the default table cell style. Mode 1: Data converted to number using VALUE in the English-US (en_US) locale. Add to Semantics: In an OpenDocument spreadsheet document the default table cell style is specified with table:default-cell-style-name. Its number:number-style specified by style:data-style-name specifies the locale to use in the conversion. The DDE function is non-portable because it depends on availability of external programs (server parameter) and their interpretation of the topic and item parameters. With "default cell style" the style specified with table:default-cell-style-name is meant, a style:style with style:family='table-cell'. Data is converted to numbers using VALUE with the locale specified in the number:number-style that is specified with the style:style's style:data-style-name. ODF part 1 mentions "default table cell style" in some places. Use of the DDE function should be considered non-portable because it depends on availability of external programs (server) and their interpretation of the topic and item parameters. > DDE: check details of data conversion and cell style > ---------------------------------------------------- > > Key: OFFICE-2218 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-2218 > Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: OpenFormula > Affects Versions: ODF 1.2 > Reporter: Eike Rathke > Assignee: Eike Rathke > Fix For: ODF 1.2 > > > Broken out from OFFICE-790 > DDE: > - "mode 0 - Data converted to number(s) using the default cell style" > - actually data is only converted to number (singular I think) if possible, > otherwise text is returned. > - Is it converted using VALUE, or some other way? > - The "default cell style" is mentioned here for the first and only time - does > this imply this function is only for spreadsheets? Shouldn't there be a bit > more about the "default cell style"? > Check these details. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
