Subject: OpenC2 Happenings for week of 9 March 2020

Reminder:Â The U.S. switched to Daylight Savings Time on March 8th. If you are outside
the U.S., please keep track of the time shift so you don't miss meetings of interest to you.

ITEMS ONE AND TWO: Â

  • Subcommittee Reorganization Ballot Concluded. The ballot for the proposed
new Language and Architecture SubcommitteeÂclosed at 1100 EST onÂ
Friday March 6th. The ballot did not pass, so the TC will continue operating
with the existing three subcommittees, and the March elections will be to fill
    four co-chair positions.

  • Pending Elections. The TC will conduct elections in March for TC co-chair and
one co-chair for each subcommittee. Nominations for the co-chairÂpositionsÂare
currently open and will remain open until the March TC meeting. Please consider
nominating yourself or a colleague forÂa co-chair position.ÂCurrently, the
following co-chair positions are up for election:
    • TC: Joe Brule
    • IC-SC: David Lemire
    • AP-SC: David Kemp
    • L-SC:Â [vacant]
Mr. Brule, Lemire, and Kemp have been re-nominatedÂto continue in office, and
Mr. Sparrell has nominated himself for the vacant L-SC position. However, there's
nothing wrong with new blood and healthy competition, so please consider running.

ITEM THREE:ÂPost-plug fest. AsÂhas been reportedÂwe had a very successful plug fest /
hackathonÂ27-28 January. We are in the process of documenting and capturing lessons
learned. Review the plug fest outcomes page on GitHub. If you were there,ÂpleaseÂcontribute your experience.

https://github.com/oasis-tcs/openc2-usecases/blob/master/Cybercom-Plugfest/Plugfest-Outcomes.md

Regardless of whether or not you attended the Plug Fest, letâs find ways to improve our suite of specifications, which leads us toâ Â

ITEM FOUR:ÂA call for post 1.0 Participation. Version 1.0 of the specifications have been posted,Â
approved, announced and we are seeing implementations. Letâs take advantage of the momentum.

  • Do you have a product or service that's a candidate for producing / consuming OpenC2
commands and responses? Please consider sharing your Custom Actuator Profile or
Proposed Committee specification. Contact the AP-SC co-chairs (Alex Everett and Dave Kemp).

  • We are seeing interest in augmenting the HTTPS transfer specification and other message
fabrics. Is there a message fabric that is more suitable for your cyber-ecosystem?Â
Share your proposed key management, transport solutions and other implementation
considerations with the IC-SC co-chairs (Dave Lemire and Michelle Barry)

  • Do you need OpenC2 to do more? Do you have a use case or scenario that we have
not considered? Please inform Toby Considine of your use cases and architectural concerns.ÂÂ
