Subject: Please vote for OASIS Standard - PKCS #11 v2.40

Hi –

Earlier this week, Chet initiated the 4 ballots for promoting our PKCS #11 V2.40 documents to OASIS standards.  If you have voted already, thanks very much! If not, we would very much appreciate your support of PKCS #11 and hope that you will cast your “yes” vote as soon as possible.

If you would like more information about PKCS #11 V2.40, including the slides from our 27-March-2015 webinar “Introduction to the PKCS #11 Candidate OASIS Standards”  (https://www.oasis-open.org/events/events/pre-os-webinar-pkcs11), please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Valerie Fenwick and Bob Griffin

Co-chairs, OASIS PKCS 11 Technical Committee

== Information about the Candidate OASIS Standards and the OASIS PKCS 11 TC ==

PKCS #11 is an application programming interface (API) that enables interaction with cryptographic devices in multi-vendor environments. These Candidate OASIS Standards received four Statements of Use from Cryptsoft Pty Ltd, Feitian Technologies Co., Ltd., P6R Inc., and Thales e-Security [4].

The OASIS PKCS 11 Technical Committee develops enhancements to improve the specification for ease of use in code libraries, open source applications, wrappers, and enterprise/COTS products. In addition to the candidate specifications, the TC has delivered implementation guidelines, usage tutorials, test scenarios and test suites, interoperability tests, coordinated functional tests, conformance profiles, and sample reference implementations.

A 30 minute pre-vote webinar giving an overview of the candidate specifications was presented by the TC on 27 March 2015. You can watch the webinar at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeeJJNgRqWM&feature=youtu.be
