Subject: Re: [regrep-semantic] Government Computer News (GCN) Interview -Mentioned Our Work
Of course, adoption of ebXML Registry is a much easier process than with many other types of open standards, as ebXML Registry is the only open standard that provides the functionality that it provides (registration/storage/discovery/maintainance of XML and non-XML artifacts). And, as I was reminded at the XML.gov working group meeting yesterday, lots of US federal folks are waiting for "native" handling of fine-grained entities such as elements/attributes/datatypes/namespace identifiers (my "big 4"). I told them that we are moving closer to this with our SCM work, which is helping lay the groundwork for these native capabilities. What I'm basically trying to say is that US federal folks want to be able to pick up an ebXML Registry spec (or TN) and see these items called out specifically.
