Subject: RE: License for relaxng.sourceforge.net
I would like to suggest we switch to using the BSD license http://www.opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.html for relaxng.sourceforge.net instead of the MIT license http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.html The only substantive difference is that the BSD license has a "no-endorsement" clause: "Neither the name of the <ORGANIZATION> nor the names of its contributors may be used to endorse or promote products derived from this software without specific prior written permission." A potential corporate contributor informs me that the lack of a no-endorsement clause in the MIT license is a problem for them (I'll leave them to identify themselves if they so wish). I can well understand this, and I can imagine other corporate contributors having a similar concern. James
