When it comes to  searching holdings Matthew talked about one
scenario where a search result returns 400 holdings and you then want
to find which of those holdings are from particular places - eg the
Bodlian and the British Library.  This to me is needs a  Search service.

How do you feel about Ashley's suggestion that that be a client side
problem?

I think that is a cop out (:-)  IT doesn't matter to us who's problem it is. We need to express the query.

The FRED project in Australia has
implemented an OpenURL resolver that takes the results of a SRW
search and then returns a request for the item in "My repository"  by
making a request to an OpenURL resolver ....

Details of this would be very useful.  It means they are extracting metadata
from the SRU record and using it to formulate an OpenURL, exactly as
proposed in
use case: SRU to OpenURL).

Yes I can provide a lot more detail.  but in the usages scenarios there is a presentation layer in between as the user selects what they want to obtain.  What info would you like - the detail I have focusses really on the user scenarios and the openURL more than the SRU side because of the intermediate presentation step.

Cheers
Kerry
