Subject: [security-jc] W3C Web Services Architecture WG

[cross posted to thread relevant thread on security-services TC list]

I’m participating in the W3C ws-arch activity.  As you know, this group is in the process of chartering a WS security WG.  Obviously today’s ws-security announcement threw them a curve ball  - of course I maintained the integrity of the SSJC’s conversation on this matter earlier this week.

After much debate, the group *may be* holding on their charter until they gain a better understanding of what the new OASIS TC has and is likely to charter.

Obviously we need to open both formal and informal channels between the two groups.  During the meeting I explained the OASIS process and IPR to the group and took an action item to inform the SSJC of their desire to better understand the scope of the new TC and help lay a path for liaison and cross-pollination.

I am however somewhat concerned about a notes on the sstc list that said that the ws-security group was “rebuked” by W3C in a way that might effect establishing a working relationship.  Could someone please explain the course of events that led to this situation and/or suggest how best to move this forward?
