Subject: RE: . Re: The real SOA challenge?) - an SOA Platform TC?
(Resending.. had a mail-list
problem last week) In the present state of SOA,
I see some parallels to how J2EE evolved. Piror to J2EE spec, there were a
whole lot of individual specs that were getting localized micro domain
traction. But, it is the J2EE specification that brought the nearly 20 odd specifications
together into one coherent platform. That was easy to understand and relate to.
Clear for vendors to build, and users to use. Part of the reason why it
became as popular as it did. My view that we could very
significantly benefit from such an initiative for SOA as well. Even if not a
tightly defined platform such as J2EE, will help to at least put all
initiatives and standards in a bigger perspective. Instead of just having this
as a committee to explain the various SOA related works, we should propose a
charter to define a complete platform. Cheers, Ramesh - Technical Director, and
