to that. The EIF is a better 'wholesome' example. Who was that mastermind who
drafted that?:-) More
frameworks? There's
lots going on in the identity space.. Look
under ICAM for a snapshot of this space Then,
as one of several Trust Framework Providers to enable that, look at: http://www.kantarainitiative.org/ ..and
the plethora of trust federation/framework related initiatives you can see from
the title of various of the work groups.. ..and
Kantara would be one of a number of member Trust Framework Providers who are
part of this umbrella organisation http://openidentityexchange.org/ like
SWIFT or whatever it is is for banking, and 'whatever-it-is' for credit cards,
and …. Cheers Colin From: Greenaway Nigel
[mailto:Nig.Greenaway@uk.fujitsu.com] Hi Peter,
I agree that the EIF should be referenced. I suggest that we
don’t reference the UK e-GIF (unless its to say that it was the first and
others have built upon it) as it is horribly out of date. There is a public
standards survey that aims to agree/refine an updated set of standards that
government has built being currently undertaken and a draft document that
will replace the ‘policy’ part of the e-GIF has been drafted and is
awaiting ministerial approval (and probably a public consultation). Regards Nig Nig

From: Peter F Brown
[mailto:peter@peterfbrown.com] Hi: One issue that we discussed on the
editorial call last Thursday concerns the TGF relationship with – and
particularly reference to – other relevant works, whether standards,
frameworks, etc. We are concerned in this issue with general textual
references, examples to cite, etc. This issue is not the same as the issue 13,
concerned with including a ‘Core Standards Set’, which is being
addressed separately. We agreed in principle to only reference
high-level frameworks rather than specific and detailed technical standards. To
this end, this is an open ‘Request for Information’ for TC members
to indicate which frameworks they feel ought to be referenced in the TGF
Primer. Some obvious examples are the US Justice Reference Architecture, the
EU’s EIF, the UK’s eGIF or Austria’s PDÖ, the US’s FEA
(now morphing into the UGEAF), etc. We don’t want to overload the Primer
with too many examples but we do want to show a fairly representative sample
and indicate how they relate to the work we are doing. So, open for comments Cheers, Peter Peter F Brown Independent
