In the original data modeling work that I led, we had from the start
identified
three models: the pure abstraction, the implementation ("grove") model,
and the
syntax model.  We only had time to develop the abstract model
completely, although
Pete N. did develop a property set from which I created an initial
implementation
model. The syntax model is a straight transliteration of the syntax
spec, so it
is essentially an exercise for the reader.
