One could take an XLink/XPointer engine and use it to construct a
topic map query engine. If one can't use the XPath/XPointer constructs
for node selection in an XML document (at least for that first pass as
the engine begins to discern the topic map constructs upon which it
will continue to operate), we're in trouble.
