Subject: Re: [xtm-wg] Topic Naming Constraint question
Hi Jan, * Jan Algermissen | | My current solution is, to scope the names according to the context | the user would think of when choosing one of the topic. | | Example: | Amazonas is ambigous for Amazon State, Amazon Region and Amazon | River. That sounds both workable and useful in this example, though I guess I would choose the topic type as the scoping topic rather than a mix of subject area and type as in your example. | I looked at XQL and XML-QL shortly, and it seems, one might | distiguish them for example by the query format: linear or XML. I don't think this is really a solution, either. First of all, this topic map is generated by a script, so there has to be a general solution for all standards. I can ask the script to read the specifications to come up with an analysis like that! :-) Secondly, this would imply that the type of query format somehow limits the validity of the name, which is not the case. --Lars M. ------------------------ Yahoo!
