If we do the ASR I see no need for the PM. What purpose would the PM
graph serve, in your view, if we have have an ASR specification?

Hmmmm. In my mind this would look like:

  CM  --  ASR
           |
         syntax

I guess you have to explain why you want _both_ a PM-graph and an ASR.
