Thanks for the vote, Daniel.  As I mentioned before, the "emeritus" was just
a suggestion, not actually part of the motion.  In the end, I think the
group should decide, as a group, just how things should be noted.

Certainly, "founding" is appropriate to the two specific individuals, but
the spirit of my motion is to keep a recorded history of all who have served
as editors on the front page.
