UBL in Manufacturing

Dear UBL'ers:

I have a question based on an internal project I am involved with at Adobe.

Has anyone or is anyone planning on implementing UBL within the 
manufacturing sector?   I am trying to understand the range and 
relationship of applications that may be touched by an "on the wire" UBL 
message and what other touch points there may be.
