Subject: RE: [ws-rx-editors] OO version for editors (2.0 or 1.1.5)

One thing I noticed in just doing the diff using 1.1.5 is that it didn't automatically notice some of the grammatical problems and spelling errors I fixed this weekend.  2.0 did, however, which could be very useful for us in producing better docs from a purely editorial perspective.

I use 1.1.5.  Upgrading to MS Word work for me  :-)   or, I guess 2.0 of OO - don't really care as long as we're all on the same version of something and it works.

[ws-rx-editors] OO version for editors (2.0 or 1.1.5)

Hi editors,

I made a detailed pass over the document this weekend to fix up editorial issues.  I tried to limit myself explicitly to issues I deemed editorial, and will send around a red line doc showing the diffs so that the editors can agree to the changes before I submit them.

The point of this mail is that when I tried to do the diff to send it out right now, I was unable to do so effectively because I apparently have a newer version of Open Office installed than the rest of you. OO 2.0 [1] was released in October, and I was curious what the editors thought about upgrading to the newly released version.

In the meantime, I'm currently installing the 1.1.5 version that Gil mentioned he is using so that I can produce the aforementioned diff.

This is just a general pulse check: What versions are editors using now, and what do the editors think about upgrading to the 2.0 version of Open Office?

Cheers,
Steve
