2. STATUS OF ACTION ITEMS

#0001 OpenDocument Fellowship/Intel Contact. Rob has not heard back from the reminder he sent. He will continue tracking and pinging.

#0015 Template Scenario: Dennis says he is continuing to work on it but moving ahead very slowly right now

#0026 Test Scenarios - No report. Assumed moving along.
#0027 Test Scenarios - No report. Assumed in progress.

#0028 Virtual Plugfest: Don reported that the provision of infrastructure for a virtual plugfest is being worked on internally by him at IBM and there is nothing to report so far. The item will be kept open for now.

#0029 OOoCon2009 ODF/Interop. [The minutes of a conference call on the topic are available at <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/odf-adoption/200908/msg00014.html>.]
Current planning is that there will be a two-day ODF plugfest in Orvieto on Monday-Tuesday, November 2-3. This is independent of the OOoCon2009 Conference, which is on Wednesday-Friday, November 4-6.

There will be an ODF/interop track on the OOoCon2009 program as well. For that, presenters must register their intention by August 21, and submit their paper by August 28. This is independent of the Plugfest, which is managed separately and for which there will be information at the plugfest site <http://plugtest.opendocsociety.org/doku.php?id=plugfests:200911_orvieto:participants>.

#0030 Interop Guidelines. This item can be closed. A document that proposes how this is done has been uploaded by Bart: <http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/oic/document.php?document_id=33623>. Review is requested.

#0031 UOF-ODF. No report available.

3. STATE OF INTEROPERABILITY

Document versions: <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=33384>

Rob is working on version 3. At that point he expects to be nearly done and hopes that we can do a final review on that one before moving to approval as a committee draft.

  1. Rob will check with the TC Coordinator to find out what level of OASIS approval is needed to bring this to the public as an OIC TC product.

  2. Revision 3 will be checked-in without a cover sheet.

  3. When we have details about the appropriate cover and treatment of the document as an OASIS product, those additions will be made in going to the next step.

says he will take comments in any form they are given to him. Feedback is desirable before Wednesday, 2009-08-05 before Rob prepares the next draft.

4. APPLICATION SCENARIOS

Bart reports that the Application Scenario Testing document is now Working Draft wd03.
<http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=33196>

Bart wants to make an additional version and then propose an electronic ballot for approval as a Committee Draft.

5. NEXT PLUGFEST

See the report on action item #0029. This is the next expected plugfest event.

There was discussion of providing material for ODF 1.2 using the OpenFormula cases, based on the projection of ODF 1.2 specification moving toward Committee Specification(s) and beyond by then. The test cases in the draft of ODF 1.2 OpenFormula will not be included in the specification, and there is consideration of contributing them to the OIC TC for use in provision of conformance tests for that part of ODF 1.2. There are some logistic issues being worked out before that can happen.

It was suggested that we might look at coming up with test scenarios around the new provisions in ODF 1.2, such as RDF metadata and digital signatures.

Finally, it was agreed that the existing tests should be rerun, since there will likely be updated and new implementations by the Orvieto plugfest in November.

We also talked about the prospect of the profile in Appendix C of ODF 1.0-1.1 being removed from ODF 1.2, and we need to see how we might take that over. There was discussion of a descriptive profile (one based on what is found to be widely-enough implemented) and a prescriptive profile (over what is expected in an implementation, possibly at more than one predefined level.

6. ROUND TABLE

There were no added roundtable topics.

6. FUTURE MEETING PLANNING
The next call is Wednesday, 2009-08-26.

We ended the call at 14:24Z.

Respectfully submitted,

 - Dennis E. Hamilton
   OIC TC Secretary
