Paul, once again you are correct in your observation that 
add/removeSlots is not absolutely necessary in teh registry API. The 
history is that add/rremoveSlots existed before the more general 
UpdateObjectsRequests. We may consider removing this in a future 
release. Thanks for your valuable suggetsions.
