Subject: Re: [bcm] Groups - Intro to DITA for BCM/EPR Committees (Key E 2a Intro to DITA.ppt) uploaded
Dan, I like this DITA stuff - but Im seeing a bit of a different angle than DITA inside the eFolder directly. Rather I'm seeing the DITA residing in the ebXML registry and orchestrating the classic browse-n-drilldown path model - with enhanced definitions - particularly creating easier to grok classifications and taxonomies - as an alternate to pure OWL or RDF. So the eFolder points out to DITA references in registry. Then the DITA model - instead of using XSLT - can point back to eFolders with steps in EPR task flows. This seems to me to be easier and more intuitive and requiring less programming. Overall I'm liking the augmentation EPR + DITA provides...since we always knew that EPR needed a strong wizard capability to instruct users in a sound and replicateable way. This way also - I don't need to redraw too much of our XDS V2 PPT - just add an extra book on the 'Registry' - with DITA and a hook from the eFolder?!? ; -) Am I missing something here? Using DITA to structure the actual menus inside the eFolder? While possible - I'm not sure that is so clean - since the work flows will be based on context and have programmable aspects and links and switching. Certainly though - DITA can add documentation value there with associations to DITA topicmaps....
