      • Kris: Send nag e-mail to Eliot about copy-to proposal COMPLETED
      • Kris: Catch up on minutes COMPLETED
      • Kris: Check on status of Keith's strong and em proposal COMPLETED
  5. Check-in: How are people doing in this difficult time?
    • Scott Hudson - last meeting as Boeing employee; will start up as a ServiceNow representative in a few weeks.
    • Dawn Stevens - DITA North America will be completely virtual in September.
  6. Update from subcommittee and other TCs
    • Lightweight DITA subcommittee (Evia)
      • Trying to align the working draft of the Committee Note with other implementations out there, esp w/MDITA. IBM developed their own version of lw-markdown, as did Jarno. Don't want to break existing implementations, so want to see what can be brought in. <example> is now an element in xdita and hdita. Avoid adding new features at this time. Carlos has created a second working draft; SC has homework to review.
    • Adoption TC (Doherty, Schengili-Roberts)
      • New github repositories for circulating drafts of materials (OASIS members), and samples (public). Stan and Scott are co-maintainers. Gershon is working on a whitepaper about financial.
      • Updating conference page on the wiki.
      • Info coming out of DITA users groups - what is missing? Lots of DITA 101, but not much for best practices after implementation.
  7. Review of DITA 2.0 proposal deadlines
    • https://wiki.oasis-open.org/dita/DeadlinesDITA2.0
      • Hardware control domain - Zoe - TBD
      • Troubleshooting diagnostic - Kris added as reviewer
      • Copy-to proposal - should finish soon (Eliot)
      • Strong and em (stage 3) - Keith sent to list for review on 4/27. Keith to resend. TC to vote on next week.
      • Loosen specialization rules - TBD. Early feedback today.
  8. DITA 2.0 stage two proposals
    • Vote
      • Remove machinery task
        • https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202005/msg00012.html (Lawson, 19 May 2020)
        • Roll call:
          1. Kris Eberlein - seconded.  Y
          2. Chris Nitchie - Y
          3. Dawn Stevens - Y
          4. Zoe Lawson - Y

    • Early feedback
      • Loosening specialization rules
        • https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dita/202005/msg00028.html (Nitchie, 26 May 2020)
        • Allow an attribute domain to add @base specializations to specific elements instead of globally.
          1. Robert - seems to over complicate things by adding the @base. You can just declare the attribute without adding the base complexity.
          2. Chris - forgot that attlists are merged. Just need the attlist and the domain tokens.
          3. Robert - we shouldn't limit to @base, but also enable for @props. People want easier ways to enable this specialization declarations for props, too.
          4. Chris - some processors automatically cascade @props, so worry about validation processing.
          5. Robert - the spec shouldn't have to worry about that. That is a processor-specific issue.
          6. Kris - Remembering proposal to be more about attributes, not elements.
          7. Chris - Stage 2 added the element considerations. DTDs will need new base attribute entities to help enable.
          8. Gershon - Do we have enough clarity on what the RelaxNG looks like? Should be our canonical format, not DTDs. We need to make sure it works in RelaxNG (model and test it).
          9. Robert - it gets easier when you don't have to worry about the DTD entities.
        • Allow "domain-local" element declarations (might be allowed in 1.3, but this proposal explicitly allows it).
          1. Robert - imagemaps already do this.
        • Allow domain elements to be inserted into specific content models instead of globally. Easier to declare specializations, rather than having to do a ton of constraints to the existing global method.
          1. Robert - Not certain that this is hard. So far looks better than some of our original designs (Constraint in reverse? Unconstraint?). It gets difficult in that it would only work for elements that you explicitly add it to. If you applied to ph, it wouldn't apply to specializations of ph. There is precedence with constraints. It follows other rules of specialization, but applies to smaller areas, so that is nice.
          2. Kris - Agree, this will be much easier to simplify grammar files. Scott agrees.
        • Chris to add revisions for a new draft.
  10. Spec work completed
  11. Approved DITA 2.0 proposals
  12. Continuing item: Prep work for developing a strawman schedule for DITA 2.0

12 noon ET close
