I just joined the list because I had the same problem, but I'm > running xsltproc. Seem's it's one of Norm's extensions. If he can explain its semantic in a few lines (and provide its namespace) I may add it to the libxslt extensions (unless it makes more sense to replace it with some EXSLT).
