Subject: RE: [ebxml-bp] Comments on NameID/IDRef and UID and Late Binding and Document References
If software uses both CPA and BPSS to determine the runtime values to enforce, the behavior is basically like John describes. The CPPA contains the actual values to be used that either match or override (some of) the BPSS defined values. The runtime software would then make use of the values loaded from the CPA. Also, during CPA formation, negotiation, and acceptance, software could alert the operator that the values override the implicitly referenced values found in the BPSS instance so that is explicitly acknowledged. This would not technically be chasing literal references to elements in the BPSS instance found in the CPA. The software would know which attribute values in the BPSS instance are qualified by the BusinessTransactionCharacteristics/@[attributes] by making use of the ActionContext information. This ActionContext information allows the XXXPartyActionBinding to be hooked back up with the right BP segment, and find the attributes being qualified. ActionContext is not, however, a literal xlink href (as is used elsewhere for references into BPSS instances). -----Original Message----- From: Yunker, John [mailto:yunker@amazon.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2004 4:16 PM To: David RR Webber; Monica J. In both cases the CPA is referencing the BPSS, 1) reference to select the appropriate BPSS; 2) reference to override configurable values. Dale? So in effect - the CPPA selects the BPSS, but the BPSS engine needs to reference both together.
